Being Hit By A "TORNADO"inside a Mobile Home
Our fear became real on Feb 2007.Living in a Double wide mobile home in a mobile home park,in Deland Florida.Living our Retirement the last 5 years in this Park.Our biggest Fear "TORNADO"became Real at 3:00am.It had been Raining during the Day.We went to Bed around 10:00Pm.The two birds in there cages in the living room.Our dog on the floor at our bedside.I was awakened by a cracking noise.Looking from my bed,all was Dark Black,ceiling fan,night lights were out.Staying in bed,I yell for Scooby our dog with No response.When a very very Loud Rumble,Like a Train Coming.
I covered my self & Wife,as our bed started to shake,then being picked up and Dropped.Pick-up,dropped again.Very Loud RROOOOOmm,boom,boom.And ripping noise,like a can-opener,opening alot of can's.All this in seconds.ALL of a sudden dead"SILENT"then cold heavy Rain.Getting out of the bed,feeling were alive.rain was coming down in the middle of our once double wide.Walking down a tree branch filled hallway.Yelling for our dog Scooby,who all of a sudden was in front of me,at the bathroom.Finding my flashlight.I could see nothing but sky in front of us,the bird cages together upside down,with debris on them,and debris everywhere.But were still in there cages,And alive.The whole front of our double wide,spilt down the middle the front florida room and all was gone.The homes in front of us were gone.Nothing there,empty straight as far,as my flash light and I could see.Walking foreward seeing what a mess,what damage.Soaking wet and three hours till Daylight.But We Are Alive.Me my wife,a dog,(Scooby)and two birds,(Sly & Pauly)with No Home,But! A WAR ZONE. |
